One thing I’ve noticed about #Mastodon compared to other places is that I see a lot more users from around the world. I’m guessing (as a #nonTechie ) that other services were filtering what I saw by location? This probably seems like a really dumb realisation, but it’s only become really obvious to me since coming here. #newbie
Response by a #NonTechie #NonDeveloper: The way I see things, Making Software is not for fueling anyone's greed -- corporate or individual. It is for solving a problem or filling a need Let's stop demonizing corporations. It's business: delivering value & getting compensated for the value you deliver.
1-time payment, subscription, pay per feature, pay for source, whatever. However you choose to charge, you shouldn't feel bad. You deserve to get paid for your work.

Eh... I don't get it. 😐
Follow? Do you mean there's a #notification toot each time you post on your #blog? Like a #plugin?

Oh, so it's possible with #Falkon? I don't understand "setting its user-agent string" though. 😅 Is there a website that teaches how to do that? Would be cool if I could just use the #browser in place of most #apps. Especially since I'm not really used to #Linux. A browser, that, I can handle. 😎
Ok, so I went a li'l crazy and on a whim (and not knowing anything) opened up my #smartphone hoping that someone's solution of drawing a #circuit from GND to -ve would be applicable in my case and I won't need to mess with wires and #batteries. Had to use another phone's camera as a magnifier. I actually found GND, but not -ve. And looking at how tiny everything is, even if I can find -ve, how do I draw a path to it in these tiny corners and alleyways? 😕
@parasurv You've been getting me intrigued/interested in #Emacs with your toots... Except that I still don't know what it is! 🤣 I don't understand it being used for toots.
I remember back in the days of #Geocities I was using a careware #texteditor called #Arachnophilia. Is that similar? Looks complicated tho if it requires installation. Believe me, I tried to read about Emacs but couldn't get past a few sentences. My eyes started to, um, how do you say... Glaze over?
