I've mostly been indifferent to #Systemd over the years. I have had reservations about it, wrt being so monolithic and seemingly getting it's tentacles into everything. Always did feel a bit over complicated and I could definitely see the comparisons people make saying it is trying to make #Linux more like Windows. I generally prefer things to be more simple and straight forward. Think it might be time to make a decision between #Artix and #FreeBSD.

- Remove support for SysV scripts in rc-local

- Pave the way for lying code replication machines ("AI") to auto-review pull requests

- Introduce user surveillance by collecting personal data, starting with birthDate

I say at this point, if you are running public-facing systemd-based #Linux distributions, you are actively harming your users, your community, and society as a whole.

After the recent news, I'll leave #systemd behind, and with #artix #linux there are many init options to choose from.

I only tried #dinit sometime ago, and had no problems with it, but there are also #runit, #openrc and #s6 too.

Any recommendations?

If you're on Artix (or Arch) and just want the wiki available locally in your terminal or browser without a full Kiwix setup, you can grab it directly from the repos:

Install the package: `sudo pacman -S arch-wiki-docs`

Access it: Open `/usr/share/doc/arch-wiki/html/en/Main_page.html` in your browser.

Also: Use `arch-wiki-lite` for a searchable terminal interface.

No internet required. Stay sovereign. ✊

I am now testing Artix with Cinnamon running Dinnit. The installation was super simple and setting up all of my normal applications was simple. Next is to test out gaming with Steam. So, here is my #Hyfetch with Macchina.
