Tomorrow, I’ll be doing a drawing for the winner of my weekly computer giveaway.

The model for this week is a ThinkCentre M710q Tiny with Intel i3-7100T processor, 8GB memory and 120GB storage.

Linux will be pre-installed. One of the reasons I am doing this is to bring attention to Linux distros like:

  • Artix
  • Devuan
  • Void
  • Slackware
  • NetBSD (which is not Linux)

For a chance to win, just be a subscriber of my email newsletter.

Konform Browser 140.11.0-101 was released a few days ago and packages are available.

https://codeberg.org/konform-browser/source/releases/tag/140.11.0.101

See release notes for details.

Brings in latest security fixes from Firefox ESR 141.11.0 as described in https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/security/advisories/mfsa2026-48/. Users of all Firefox-based browsers should upgrade to fixed version before loading untrusted content.

Konform Browser now comes with global translations and localization bundled. This means you can get UI in non-English languages out of the box without having to download language-pack addons.

This release also comes with improved memory efficiency and a few other minor improvements and fixes.

In other news, Konform Browser is now additionally available in Artix Linux repositories.

Alright. Not sure if there are easier or better ways to do this. I guess now that I *sort of* know what I'm doing it's not _too_ bad, but I think I've got a decent handle on the whole booting thing. I created separate `/boot` and `swap` partitions for my 3 `/` partitions for #Arch, #Artix, and #Slackware. I have EFI boot entries that allow me to boot directly into their own grub, and currently have custom entries in my default Arch grub to boot into each as well.

A question for the #Linux community!

Dear fellow Linux users,

A friend of mine is looking for a new Linux distribution. His criteria are:
- #Arch
- Independent developers (i.e., a developer community, not a development company)
- #runit or #SysVinit instead of #SystemD

If the developers are explicitly committed to data protection and user privacy, that’s definitely a plus.

He’s currently considering #Artix Linux—what are your suggestions and ideas?

Thanks!

Eine Frage an die #Linux Community!

Liebe Mit-Linuxer,

ein Freund ist auf der Suche nach einer neuen Linux-Distribution. Seine Kriterien sind:
- #Arch
- unabhängige Entwickler (also Enwickler-Community, keine Entwickler-Firma)

Danke!

Yes, Artix is based on Arch, but no systemd. Several different init options, I usually use 'runit'.

Installer is easy to use, especially if you do "erase whole disk".

I installed on the hardware pictured in probably less than 10 minutes after I took the screenshot.

#Artix
Just a quick screenshot from an Artix with XFCE live boot.

Already I am feeling better about XFCE than MATE. The "Ctrl + Alt + t" keyboard shortcut for bringing up a termal works, in MATE it doesn't by default.

Without messing with it too much, it also seems more easily customizable.

Will report more later.

So. After deleting and rebuilding my `ESP`partition I don't even know how many times and trying out so many different ways of setting up either #rEFind or #GRUB and messing with the `mkinitcpio.d/linux.preset` files, I finally got my original #Arch partition and new #Artix partition booting.

I could not, for the life of me, figure out how to segregate the Arch and Artix boot loaders and initramfs. But since they appear to be the same, both being Arch under the hood...
