Purple Translucent vinyl
A perfect tone-setter for a Sunday morning, and one of the very first #electronic records ever released on Windham Hill, a label usually reserved for #newage artists.
It is synthy, jazzy, ambient and wonderful sounding, and is now viewed as a precursor to “vapor wave” music by decades.
Also worth noting here is that is pressed as “Quiex II” vinyl, which was a high-quality, low-noise audiophile vinyl formulation used mostly in the late 1970s and 1980s. Records pressed on Quiex II usually looked like normal black vinyl, but when held up to a strong light they revealed a translucent color — often brown, purple, red, or smoky gray. The vinyl compound used less carbon black filler than standard records, and the base PVC was translucent.
This one is purple, and sounds fantastic.
