I am a published fiction writer and poet and a lyricist who has written a 28-page libretto, adapted from my own 10-poem cycle.

I am seeking a composer who writes or at least is influenced by pop, jazz, classical and cabaret styles.

The libretto tells a simple love story with a gender-bending twist and the atmosphere of a waking dream. The language is heightened and poetic. There are simple stage directions that hint at the possibilities of staging.

When I wrote these lyrics, my goal was to take the spirit of “Abstract Matter*” and bring it to a more tribal, more physical, less clean side. I pulled everything into the body, into the rhythm, into the instinct.

I just had the chance to discover Pouya Hamidi's _I Will Greet the Sun Again_, a song cycle set to poetry by four Iranian woman writers. It's extremely moving, and the latter two songs in particular have a hopefulness that I think speaks to *waves vaguely at the world*
