@bryan I mean even beyond any historical inaccuracy, it was just objectively bad. Why go to the trouble of having Joaquin Phoenix be in your movie and then have the worst, most boring and predictable dialogue and pair him with a Josephine where there’s obviously no chemistry, and she’s supposed to be the love of his life. They are just out there walking around in costumes. That was not acting, and that movie sucked. I don’t care if it was Ridley Scott or whose name was on it. #Napolean #Movies

After seeing #Napolean I decided to read the #sequels. Frankly the premise runs itself a bit thin at this point. After two botched coup attempts, #nepobaby Luis #NapoleanIII simply runs for election as president of France and wins on name recognition. One can only push suspension of disbelief so far. #franchise #history

Finally saw Ridley Scott’s #Napolean. While I rarely agree with others’ reviews of movies, I largely agree with others on this one. Maybe it tried to cover too much. Maybe it should have been a multi-season series.

I’ve seen documentaries where I could feel the extreme danger he had put himself and his men into during the invasion of Russia. I felt none of that danger here, snd I felt they needed to move on to finish in under three hours.
