A reminder that my interview about https://the.socialmusic.network for Deep INsessioNZ drops this week. According to the FreeFM schedule;
https://www.freefm.org.nz/Schedule.aspx
... it will be broadcast at midnight on Friday 29 May, NZST. So that's midday that same day UTC, right? Disregard what I said here about that, I was posting tired.

I haven't heard the final mix yet and I'm a bit nervous. Hope it comes across OK.
Another announcement from me for NZ Music Month, a few months I started mapping the independent music infrastructure in Aotearoa;

As with the CC-licensed record list, this is a WIP and additions/ corrections are welcome. Either through comments here or there, or if you have an account, feel free to edit it yourself. But if you do edit, please add a comment describing your changes, and link them to relevant pages.

In Aotearoa, musicians are mostly dependent on the same handful of corporate intermediaries and DataFarming platforms as they are in many other countries. I have some ideas about what we could do about that, using existing tech and a bit of community organising. But before I get into that I think it’s important to follow what I call the Kalashnikov Principle, and map out what kiwi music-makers are currently using. As usual, my amigo SSSD will be hyping NZ Music Month on the Deep INsessioNZ radio show (also available as a podcast);

SSSD will be rolling out a series of kiwi music themed shows throughout May. Including an interview with yours truly about the kaupapa of the.social music.network, dropping 29 May. That's NZST/ UCT+12, so 30 May for those in the western hemisphere timezones.

In classic ADHD style, I finally sat down to find the 1 1/2 hours of music I need for a radio interview, recorded tomorrow. It's being broadcast during NZ Music Month, so it all needs to be by kiwi artists (by some reasonable definition, I guess).
I'd like to feature as much music as possible found on non-corporate music stores (bandwagon.fm, mirlo.space, ampwall.com, etc). I'd also like to feature as much music under CreativeCommons licenses as possible. Ideally both.
Help?
FYI fellow HamilTronians;
* [DateMonthYear](https://datemonthyear.bandcamp.com/album/the-exodus-suite) are playing at Nivara Lounge tonight.
* Also in live music, a rare sighting of the Mesoverse putting some on, with the [Crunch Kirikiriroa Hardcore](https://www.undertheradar.co.nz/gig/101690/Kirikiriroa-Hardcore-Vol7-Ft-Stagnance-Canada-and-more.utr) show.
NZ Music Month only a month away!
