Education conferences are always hit-or-miss affairs, but I had a good and productive time at the #NCTM Annual meeting this past week, thanks in part to @dodecahedra's excellent workshop on the geometry of polar curves. As he says, respect the shapes!

I was also really happy to finally meet him and @KarenCampe both in person for the first time, which swung the balance of my conference experience past the "worth it" threshold.

Today, the first full day of the #ASSM Annual Meeting, we had leaders from #NCTM, #NCSM, and the #USDOE report their recent activities to us. We also mixed in some discussions, portions of our business meeting, and our group photo.

Y'all!! @johnsonmath and I got a behind the scenes tour of the Library of Congress from a research librarian who used to teach HS math! She just happened to overhear us asking the security guard about where the math books were located! #nctm #mtbos #iteachmath

Almost forgot to make my #NCTMAnnual submission before the deadline! I don't know how common it is to have to submit a year in advance like we do for #NCTM, but it feels a little out of order to be proposing a 2024 session while it's still 3+ weeks before I deliver my 2023 session.

I'm finally registered for the #NCTM Annual Meeting and, for the first time in a while, the NCTM Research Conference.

@druinok @samjshah @k8nowak My blog isn't very active, but at least I've added a few posts in the past year from when I was at #NCTM in LA.

In my RSS reader, I see posts in the past 30 days from @jreulbach, @ablinstein, John Golden, and Dave Gale, but it's generally pretty quiet. It feels like we might have as math #mathed podcasters as steady bloggers at this point.
