POLITICO has a fascinating article about the monopoly of power in AI and how the large cloud platforms vertically integrate their power. However, the conclusion calls for a public cloud option. In an age of government surveillance, we don't need to give them additional power over AI and cloud computing. I'd rather see the promotion of open-source options and data migration capabilities as integral to a more distributed AI landscape.
