Ya, I've not been on here in a few days and it looks like I'm gonna be tied up at this time slot for at least until the severe cold snap is over because I'm entertaining a few weather refugees at this time. #butterflies
Keeping 'em sheltered until I can release them:
Female #GiantSwallowtail
Male #Monarch
Male #EasternBlackSwallowtail

The monarch is gonna get concierge limo service to a main migratory route located at a major creekbed so that it can make it to Texas in the few warm days we have in the forecast, where it'll find late blooming nectar sources. The other two don't migrate and they'll be living their best lives until they can't. I'll also bend over backwards to see to the survival of the nectar blooms in the yard so that they don't freeze because #PaintedLadies are still coming through here.

Veronica spicata "Red Fox" - Spike Speedwell
Asclepias tuberosa - Butterfly Weed (milkweed)

I manage what is technically a pollinator garden in my area, but everyone calls it "The Butterfly Garden." In addition to flora chosen to reflect our status as a Monarch Waystation, we are committed to native plant selections that encourage ALL butterflies and moths (we have 200+ species in our area), bees and other beneficial insects, and of course, birds.

This photo shows some of our Red Fox Veronica with Butterfly Weed in the background. Can you spot the bee?
