One thing I've been paying more attention to since I started sculpting is #fashion. For the audience in my Pagliacci diorama I based most of the dresses on either photos or fashion illustrations of the era. For the noir stuff I tend to look at costumes from old movies, catalogues, newspaper ads and fashion magazines.

It might seem silly, but it turns out eyelash extensions work pretty well as individual blades of grass. I've only ever used them in potted plants, but overall I'm happy with the result.
Personally I like to store my minis in glass jars. Just make sure to punch a few holes in the lid so you can let some air in.
A few pics of how I made this couch. I built the basic shape out of wood. I used wallpaper to cover the cushions. I don't think I'll ever do that again. The texture works pretty well, but bending it into the shapes I wanted wasn't particularly fun. The wood on the armrests is either mahogany or teak veneer. I forget which.
