MNDSGN, aka Mind Design, aka Ringgo Ancheta, is a Los Angeles based producer whose work combines R&B, jazz, soul, and elements of modern hop-hop beatmaking to wrap the listener like a fuzzy blanket. The ingredients of his music and how they are put together have a familiar feel in the vein of '70s seductive soul and funk sound. Ancheta recreates the exact mood and the flow, and brings them up to date through contemporary production tools and techniques. He also generously injects his own melodic flair to his pieces, where every musical gesture remains cool and restrained, simultaneously projecting extra warmth. In addition to his regular output and collaborations, he also creates mixtapes with loops, snippets, and other fragmentary material that somehow manage to feel full-bodied.
