This melody is a reasonably upbeat one, but the lyrics are quite sad as they're about losing someone (and I think it was specifically to do with losing his mum to cancer)

This folk-pop hit sounds melancholic but the lyrics are a little more quotidian, if not fully upbeat. Juust remembered to play at the last possible minute.

Yikes I nearly missed #tunetuesday on #mismatchmusic, tunes where music and lyrics are at odds in tone or emotion.

A few protest songs came up, such as Country Joe and the Fish "Feel-Like-I'm-Fixing-To-Die Rag", but I ended closer to home with the Undertones.

It's Gonna Happen, pure pop joyfulness which happens to be about hunger strikes in Northern Ireland circa 1981. Definitely one of those where you need to check the lyrics.
