Tengo una #HP Laserjet P1102W desde hace muchos años. La usaba con mi MacbookPro sin problema. Quedó guardada porque llegó una #EPSON L3251. Al llegar mi nueva #MacMini M4 quise volver a usarla, pero resulta que HP ya no tiene drivers para #MacOS #Tahoe, ni para versiones anteriores.

Me puse a buscar como otros habían solucionado esta situación. Probé muchas maneras de volver a integrarla a mi entorno de productos #Apple, sin éxito.

Resignado, pensé en heredárla a la oficina, donde muchos usan #Windows (HP si tiene drivers para versiones 7 y posteriores).

.. y luego me encontré con el trabajo de Jack Cheng (https://github.com/jackcheng/hp-p1102w-tahoe) quien se encargó de tomar el driver original de HP, y modificarlo para operar en las versiones mas recientes de #MacOS.

La instalación es muy sencilla, y funciona perfectamente.

Creo q es cosa de las actualizaciones y la obsolescencia programada.

Un día de estos voy a instalar un snow leopard de cero y sin conexión a internet, actualizaciones cero y veremos si es usable realmente o no. (Mi apuesta es un si)

Es extrañisimo q tu puedas usar en 2026 un 486 con win 3.11 tranquilamente xo no un core 2 duo con macosx sea imposible 🤷🤦

Woah. When I upgraded to my Mac Mini M4Pro I created a external drive to offload everything but the OS to it to avoid paying the Apple tax on storage and it works great.

I chose the WD Black SN850X. One went in a OWC 1M2 enclosure and the other in a OWC enclosure that holds a 12TB HDD as well as a working drive / backup (I also have 2 26TB HDD for backup as well)

I paid $599.00 in March of 2025 for each. Now they are ALMOST 3 times that and almost 6X in Japan. Man talk about good timing For the cost of the 8TB internal upgrade (I got 1TB) which was almost 2300 at the time, I covered both drives, the enclosures, the HDD and the upgrade to 64gb or RAM) Quite a steal IMHO as today just the SSD's would push $3000 USD, oh and the 64gb RAM version is not an option anymore #Mac #MacMini #SSD #Storage #apple
