So, the #OECD came up with a #minimumTax for #coporations of 15%…. If you don‘t participate, you get grey-/blacklisted. Only the #UnitedStates wants and gets an excemption. Next thing, #Trump lowers corporate taxes in the #US in his #oneBigBeautyfulBill aka #OBBB . That‘s a clear unfair advantage that #US corporations are getting here… so, the #valuation of US companies/#stockMarket will reflect that in a higher price allowing US corps to #takeOver/buy foreign corps with shares. Hmmm..

Looks like the #G7 just killed the 2021 global #MinimumTax deal of the #OECD under bullying from Trump by agreeing to an exemption for US corporations. 😳

Gabriel Zucman's report proposes a global minimum tax of 2% on billionaires' wealth to address their low tax contributions.

This initiative aims to generate significant revenue - potentially up to $688 billion annually - by ensuring billionaires pay their fair share, despite current #TaxAvoidance strategies.

The proposal parallels the existing #MinimumTax on multinational corporations, with potential for international cooperation to enforce such measures.

@Snowshadow
A #MinimumTax?

That exists for #multinationals.

I have moved over to the #UniversalBasicIncome / #UniversalBasicServices camp.

So many volunteers doing great work for free. So many Americans trapped in a listless #BullshitJob because it provides them with #HealthInsurance.

Greens/EFA MEPs write to EU Commission on minimum tax

On 19 May, the European Parliament passed its opinion on the directive on minimum effective taxation by a large majority. Greens/EFA can no longer accept that the implementation of the internationally agreed OECD pillar 2 is watered down and delayed in the Union because of individual Member States who put their narrow interests before the common good of the citizens.
