#PV #minigrid development in Sub-Saharan Africa seems to be following the same general pattern as did telephone service. The need for a large and physically intense network is skipped because something better was invented during the period when colonial incumbency and its aftermath couldn't care less.

The energy yield also seems to start consumers off with a set of expectations likely more sustainable than "you get as many watt hours as you care to waste."
