#FossilFuels really cannot #compete without artificial barriers for #Renewables and #RenewableEnergy is the biggest growing sector of #Electricity and #PowerGeneration in "The #GlobalSouth" because of that.

Like most people in impoverished areas can't pay for metered grid connectivity, but they most likely can afford a used car battery, solar charger, solar panel and USB car charger - if not individually then as a group - and do their own #EnergyKiosk where everyone can charge their #Smartphones and have a chat.

Absolutely. Drake Landings is amazing and perfectly demonstrates what can be achieved with solar thermal in cold climates. The cost is a drop in the ocean compared to the cash mountain they are throwing at Nuclear and fossil energy.

Sadly the fossil and nuclear establishment would rather bury these success stories, and their governmental partners are happy to do the burying.

Raygen to build Concentrated Photovoltaic plant with Thermal and Energy storage.

The Yadnarie project, potentially sized at 150 MW of solar capacity, 90 MW of thermal energy capacity and 720 MWh (8-hours) of energy storage, has recently won state planning approval, and has long been expected to the first big project to be built following the success of the technology at a pilot plant at Carwarp in Victoria.
