Hey #mixxx community. Who of you is using a non-DJ-style #midiController an can recommend one? I have multiple people telling me to get a midifighter twister for all kind of wild applications, is anyone using that?

I am currently sporting this wild DIY #faderController I built for a VJ set, but I have to use a mouse for lots of things and rotary pots would be much nicer in most places. (And yes this is 3U #eurorack sized, but has never seen a skiff so far)

My #MAudio Keystation Mini 32 broke because the USB port was surface mounted and stripped right off the circuit board (with traces!).

My #Arturia Keystep 37 just now broke, because while not surface mounted, the cheap USB B port's backshield popped off and ripped off two SMDs in the process.

Like I'm kinda stunned. Almost makes me think keyboard producers does this on purpose…

In both cases I neither of them received any abuse or excessive force. And after my M-Audio died I've been trying to be very careful about the cable insertion  

And in both cases, this could have been solved with not soldering the USB ports directly to the PCB

Nerviges und zeitraubendes Mapping von Plug-ins und MIDI-Controllern gehört der Vergangenheit an – das verspricht Dialr von Producely. Dafür nutzt der Controller Künstliche Intelligenz, die die Parameter erkennt und automatisch zuweist. Wie gut das funktioniert und das Gerät sein Versprechen hält, habe ich im Producely Dialr Test auf die Probe gestellt.

Wer kennt es nicht: man möchte Musik machen, hat vielleicht einen brandneuen MIDI-Controller am Start, und hängt dann erstmal in der Mapping-Hölle fest. Für jedes Plug-in müssen neue Skripte geladen oder Zuweisungen definiert werden. Während dieses Prozesses geht dann oft die Kreativität und die Motivation flöten – zumindest geht es mir so.

Dieses Problem soll jedoch ab sofort der Vergangenheit angehören, denn Producely haben mit Dialr einen MIDI-Controller veröffentlicht, der automatisch die Parameter eines Plug-ins erkennt und entsprechend mappt. Dabei spielt es keine Rolle, ob es sich um Effekte oder Klangerzeuger handelt.
