It’s been 30 years since a few cyclists known as the Brunswick Bicycle Group (now #MerribekBUG ) got together to concrete a small section of the #MerriCreekTrail near CERES environmental park. Now the concrete shared-use trail managed by #MerribekCouncil stretches 21km from Dights Falls to the M80 in #Melbourne’s northern suburbs.
Never underestimate the actions of a few people to create change.
“Pull, pull, Indiana. This is what happens when you wiggle and strain in the bike basket. We both tumbled out last Saturday, but I was the one that hurt my right rear leg.
“At least we got to visit Lort Smith Veterinary Hospital at Campbellfield where a nice Lady vet gave me some nice tasting anti-inflammatory medicine and said I have to rest up for the week.”

“Bummer! Sewerage spill in Merri Creek #floodwaters. We don’t go paddling anyway, but this adds to the reason not to paddle in the creek (or Port Philip) at the moment. 🐶🐶
Floodwaters have gone down enough to use the #WesternRingRoadTrail, but you might get splashed. W#e chose not to follow.."
