This complicated 2024 is almost over, and similarly to what I did in the past years, I am collecting the main #megabreaches (that is breaches with more than 1 million records leaked). This is work in progress, so apologies if the list is not complete. So far I recorded 73 breaches with more than 4.15 billion records leaked!

In the second timeline of March 2024 I collected 104 events dominated by malware, exploitation of vulnerabilities and ransomware. The threat landscape was also characterized by several mega breaches, multiple cyber espionage operations and also some remarkable events related to cyber warfare.
In the second timeline of January 2024 I collected 168 events (10.50 events/day), dominated by #ransomware, #malware and the exploitation of #vulnerabilities. There were also several #megabreaches, multiple operations against #fintech organizations, and the usual wave of attacks motivated by #cyberespionage.

The last #cyberattacks timeline of 2023 revealed a decrease in events, with a lower trend extending to #ransomware and #malware. There were also a few #megabreaches, and some events in the #fintech sector. #Cyberespionage and #hacktivism remained prominent, influenced by Iranian and Russian groups.

The last cyber attacks timeline of 2023 revealed a decrease in events (120 events down from 140 of the previous timeline), and this trend extended to lower ransomware and malware rates. There were a few mega breaches, and some events in the cryptocurrency sector. Cyber espionage and hacktivism remained prominent, influenced by Iranian and Russian groups.
