Toffee Crisp and Blue Riband can't be called chocolate any more
'Nestle has reformulated Toffee Crisp and Blue Riband bars, reducing their cocoa and milk solid content below UK chocolate standards, leading to their reclassification as "encased in a smooth milk chocolate flavour coating." This change, driven by rising cocoa prices, reflects a broader industry trend known as "skimpflation," where companies adjust recipes to manage increased production costs. Similar adjustments have been made by other brands, such as McVitie's, which recently relabelled its Penguin and Club bars as "chocolate flavour."'

McVities’ Digestives with dark chocolate are better than the ones with milk chocolate. The plain ones are still to try.
Well f... me the MSM finally starting to catch up, i posted about the chocolate palm oil rip off weeks ago. They don't mention white coated kitkats though.

Welcome to the Money blog, Sky News' consumer hub. We kick off every Monday with a careers deep dive, today asking an aesthetics doctor what his job is really like. And there's bad news if you like a lot of chocolate on your biscuit.
“We made some changes to McVitie’s Penguin and Club earlier this year, where we are using a chocolate flavour coating with cocoa mass, rather than a chocolate coating. Sensory testing with consumers shows the new coatings deliver the same great taste as the originals.”
Who are you trying to kid?
It was really interesting to try McVities’ Milk Chocolate Digestives - according to some studies, they’re the most favourably viewed biscuit among the British. And who else but the British should you trust when picking biscuits?
The biscuits are indeed quite tasty. Not overly sweet, well‑balanced, a little crunchy but still soft enough. Chocolate covering isn't bad as well.

It gets frigging worse this time from @McVities. We now have chocolate flavoured bars but have the privilege of paying more for it.
And now for some serious news.
