Inside my there are two hors:

First that wants to make longer posts on mastodon and there fore needs to figure put other instances and whatnot...

Second that wants to have 500 character limitation to stay coherant and really have to think what to output...

I very often have a problem on mastodon. Posts from people on other servers regularly don't show up at all for me, and when I go to their profile page, it just says "Older posts from other servers are not displayed."

But if I go to their profile page with my mastodon.social profile, their (new) post is there. It's only here on tech.lgbt it doesn't show up.

I check that the other servers are not on the moderated list here, but they almost never are.

Does anyone else have this problem, and is there a solution?

Edit: Well I should probably have done a search before asking. At least I have solved my immediate problem, of not being able to interact with posts that don't appear here:

Pasting the full link to the post into the search bar of this server, makes it fetch that post from the original server, and then it appears on the timeline to be interacted with. Very clunky, but at least possible.

I feel like I'm always apologizing here for not responding to @'s in a timely fashion.

To all of you who have engaged with me lately and then gotten no response, thank you and I'm sorry. Since Grandma was sick and then passed, my bandwidth has been all over the place as far as having enough mental/emotional energy to actually respond to responses.

Mastodon pals, a friend of mine is trying to join, but when they scroll down to accept the ground rules in desktop - for login or for sign up - the page just refreshes and brings them back to the start of the ground rules. Anyone have ideas on how to fix?
