As the evening draws in on Xmas Eve I traditionally have a nice strong Belgian ale, this year its Chimay Blue.

Happy Xmas to everyone on this Mastodon Beer instance, it's been great getting to have normal decent conversations on Social Media, I've made loads of new connections and had friendly chats with lots of people I probably wouldn't have in other circumstances.

A few weeks ago this Dublin brewery released an Oatmeal Stout exclusively sold in Aldi. I liked it so much I asked for the recipe and the brewer was very generous and gave me the full breakdown of ingredients and process.

Side by side tasting today and I've 2 mini kegs to drink over the next couple of weeks.

Very happy with the end product. Not exactly the same but it's a nice beer
