I know there is some ongoing work, eg. https://socialhub.activitypub.rocks/t/fep-07d7-a-custom-url-scheme-and-web-based-protocol-handlers-for-linking-to-activitypub-resources/3588.

Some people will argue against this, but the Atmosphere is (slowly) decentralizing (https://stefanbohacek.online/@stefan/116126040489956521) and it will soon run into the same issues we're dealing with, like being asked to log in when you click a link to a post that's not on your server/AppView/what have you.

I'm sure they will figure this out, with their deep crypto VC money pockets, but if we can figure this out first, it could really give us a major advantage.

Masto's trending hashtags need adjustments, 99% of the time the hashtags trending are those gamey ones created by the community, yes, I know they are fun to a lot of people, otherwise they wouldn't trend, but they also make it impossible to know the "real events" being talked about in the fediverse. The barrier to overcome the gamey hashtags is high, as of this moment for example, only BadBunny, Discord, and SafeInternetDay cut trough what I see as noise.

Unas semanas bien pesadas, pero con cosas interesantes que he probado en el trabajo.
- #polars : Definitivamente mi herramienta para dataframes por defecto, después de habituarse a las formas nativas esto es muy claro y eficiente.
- Depurador de #zed: Aunque no he podido lograr que funcione la forma de anexar un proceso en ejecución, el modo de lanzar proceso resulta muy directo, y la interfaz para explorar las variables y la consola de interacción integrada funcionan muy bien

I've said it before, I'll say it again, but here I am saying it right now: Mastodon 4.2's new search is absofuckinglutely wonderful to have. Total game-changer.

I've previously spent hours scrolling through history trying to find specific toots. I can now find those in seconds, and just did (see: https://toot.cat/@dredmorbius/111162458078683845).

Genuinely hope the #Mastodon #MastoDevs are working on the massive memory leak that makes the #WebClient functionally useless after about an hour.
Seriously, its really bad on #Firefox, I dont know about other #browsers. This seems like some pretty basic foundational stuff. Its been this way for months. What's the problem?

Folks should take a look at the #fullTextsearch function that Eugen is proposing for #Mastodon and how closely it resembles the #search patch of the woman who he kicked off the Mastodon repo GitHub & Discord a couple of months ago. Also, her patch was more configurable that the thing he's bringing to main that has zero attribution of her work. #fediverse #mastodev #MastoDevs

With the most recent updates to Mastodon, I've noticed a significant performance improvement. I think the #mastodevs are kicking ass.
