Also: my original idea wasn't quite so 3D but because I had to hand-cut the silk leaves from much larger leaves (variegated oak), I use a thin layer of clear nail polish to prevent fraying on the cotoneaster leaf edges.

While I left them after to cure/offgas for a couple of weeks, I realised adding them into the actual slipcover art using a manual button-stitching technique I learned years ago would ENSURE nothing nasty lingering on the leaves would be likely to come in through the filter media beneath the artwork.

Thank you for your compliments on this project! ๐Ÿ™‚โค๏ธ

Had a rare moment of suitably snappy comeback earlier today.

As I passed an older couple shopping in an aisle, the woman said "Oh, cute!" and then stammered a bit as she tried to get the man's attention from the shelves and towards me, as she continued with "That thing, I mean. That's cute."

Me: "Oh, that's okay, I'm cute, too." ๐Ÿ˜€

She looked slightly mortified and then relieved when I continued, "Seriously though, thanks. I just finished this design a few weeks ago and I'm rather happy with it."

Back in February 2024, I shared some #MaskHacking tips I'd figured out for personal use.

Now it's time to update with some handy info for #healthcare situations such as, #hospitals, specifically #imaging and #dx! ๐Ÿ˜€

Sorry to link to Twitter but remember that thread I did recently-ish on #MaskHacking to make my respirator more comfortable through added #humidity?

It turns out that humid air is a lot better at reducing the amount of aerosol virus that gets into your lungs. And that masking alone can actually increase that humidity even if the room you are presently in is not humid enough.

Worth a read! ๐Ÿ™‚

Eat, Pray, and...Live with Covid. So, let's really live with it. If you have the opportunity to change your building's humidity? Go for the "Goldilocks zone" of 40-60% relative humidity - aka NOT the dry air of your office. Plot twists in this ๐Ÿงต.
