This artwork marked the wall at the back of “Café Soundgarden”, a bar on Marnixstraat, that opened in the early “90s. The name comes from the well known American ‘grunge’ band “Soundgarden”. The live music and DJ nights are focusing on underground and indie scenes. 🎸 🎶
The bar is known for its canal-side terrace, and graffiti-covered walls. It is an independent bar that supports local bands. It’s one of the few spots in central Amsterdam that still shows the DIY spirit of the 1️⃣9️⃣9️⃣0️⃣s scene.
