Mārama (2025)

1859. When a young Māori woman is summoned from New Zealand to North Yorkshire, she uncovers her horrific colonial heritage and is compelled to confront and destroy the titled Englishman who devastated her family.

Went and watched this film. Pretty good, very vengeful. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M%C4%81rama_(film) #film #marama

This was for me - and many I spoke to - the highlight of all the movies at the #outlookhorrorfilmfestival in #NewOrleans this past weekend...
The wahine haka (sic) shown in this image was absolutely gasp-inducing (literally) to the audience, and showed her 'claiming back' her mana for her and her family... (again sic)
