so, a few days ago, I turned on my soldering iron and heard a "POP" from the main unit, and the iron won't heat up any more.
I said to myself, "Oh, its just a blown capacitor or something."
I realized in the shower this morning: how am I supposed to fix my soldering iron...WITHOUT my soldering iron?

Hab für ein Projekt Gießharz bestellt und statt der bestellten 333g Flasche ein 1kg Gebinde bekommen. Was ja eigentlich super als Fehler zu meinen Gunsten wäre; leider waren aber trotzdem nur 500g Härter im Paket 🙈 #makerproblems

I just want to power a thing I’m designing with 5V from a USB plug or a LiPO battery, and to charge the battery if the USB is plugged in. Now well down a huuuuuuge rabbit hole of data sheets and YouTube vids: Buck/boost converters, charge controllers, LDO regulators, and on and on. Surely this is a standard thing with a standard solution? Any pointers appreciated and welcomed. #electronics #maker #MakerProblems #SoMuchToLearn 😂

I would like to file a complaint, please. My battery drawer is... DEVOID OF AAA BATTERIES.

How can this have happened?! How can I fix stuff, if I have no proper batteries?

(Also, the box labelled 'AAA' is an imposter. Don't believe his lies. There are no AAA's.)

Had plans to make progress on both a new #hydroponics system and build/deploy a couple of new #LoRA sensors. Le sigh. Even after a whole pot of coffee I’m so fried the most I can do is to log in some the parts that arrived this week. #makerproblems

Me: Division of labour is a great concept because it enables me to specialise in a particular field and thereby furthering the development of humanity as a whole, instead of spending a significant amount of my time to bake my own bread, sew my own shirts, and build a bed for me to sleep in.

Also me: instead of buying all those things, it sounds much more interesting if I learned how to bake bread or sew a shirt or make furniture by myself.
