#Lodoss é um #anime que merecia um remake. Apesar de ter um roteiro clássico, o enredo ainda funcionaria hoje em dia. Tem ótimos personagens, como a Bruxa Cinzenta, aquele clérigo lá do Deus da Guerra e um vilão interessante (e que tem um final bastante inesperado). Modernizando algumas coisas, como as cenas de luta e de romance, e incluindo o arco do Deus do Fogo (que foi excluído dos animes originais e acabou deixando a história com algumas pontas soltas), acho que poderia ficar excelente.

I was today years old when I found out that Record of Lodoss War was based on the actual play transcripts of a #DnD game, specifically red box Mentzer Basic edition, and that #TSR shot themselves in the foot by pressuring the publishers with their #copyright, so the publishers invented a whole new #TTRPG system, which is #SwordWorld #RPG.
I feel particularly odd about this, since I wrote the review of the #Lodoss #OVA #anime series in #d8Magazine in the mid 1990s, not knowing this. #gaming

OK, peut-être j'ai vu trop des anime fantastique cette année. Blâmez Lodoss, parce que je cherchais beaucoup pour un autre show si bon, et n'en trouvait pas. Une balance rare d'escrime et sorcier, méchants mécompris, romance, comédie, et une finale incontournable.
Il y a deux saisons: L'OAV de 1990, et la reprise de 1998. Imaginez, que tout ceci vient d'une campagne D&D jouée par des otaku légendaires dans les 80s. Quel chef d'oeuvre!

And then we get to the empty period - twenty years where the only thing Lodoss related that is released are reprints of the novelizations (they never stop selling!) and a few mobile games which are so dead you can't even find screenshots of them.
And today, we are lucky little beans to have Deedlit in Wonder Labyrinth - an excellent reminder of a once-great series.

The #anime sparked re-interest, and even a 16-episode radio drama was produced, concluding the story of "The God of Wind and Fire", something once intended for the OVA.
Wikipedia even says there was a TCG but I can't find any photos of it.
In 2000, we get the weirdest game of all: a #Dreamcast action RPG where you are a nameless hero. Despite taking place on Lodoss and having Carla and Leilia, I have no idea what it has to do with Lodoss. I played it once, it was bad...

Finally in 1998 we got Chronicles of the Heroic Knight, a massively convoluted retelling of Parn's story, connecting into Spark and Nice.
If I understand correctly, the first 9 episodes of the OVA are canon, and from there it switches over to the 27-episode anime, skipping the content of book 2 completely. But who can say for sure? Rocket scientists are on it.
(They also coincided this with a #GameBoy card battler, but it was pretty lame.) #anime
