Adventures in the community and in the kitchen this week. Jarred another batch of #sauerkraut, which has rapidly become a favourite condiment. I took a delightful class to make fish tacos with freshly-made corn tortillas at the Milner Library.
Yesterday's trip to the #LocalBikeShop was made under brilliant blue skies. Today was very foggy and frosty weather, with frazil pans getting larger on the river.

This is sad news: ThinkBike in Dublin has closed. I hadn't visited there, but knew of it and it seemed a popular local bike shop for southsiders.

Make good friends with the most convenient and helpful #LocalBikeShop in your area and don't be shy about asking them what seem like silly questions. Also, pay them to do anything you don't know how to do. I've been riding bicycles for most of my 67 years and I have never learned to change a flat tire. Shops are happy to take our money for these things. Get them to sell you the correct pump for the tires you have. You're learning a new and useful skill.

My point is that #LocalBikeShop is critical #bicycleinfrastructure, worth funding in our communities, like for support & maintenance most of us need sometimes.

@J_aa_p I had a similar story last year, #wattwagons for their “supercharged” belt-driven (single) Hound with a 3kWh battery pack. It took months of hounding them about my order to get it delivered. I was honestly disappointed by the quality of some parts and the build, but dealing with it by being my own mechanic… and never mail ordering an e-bike again.

Welp, I looked for lights at my #LocalBikeShop s (plural), but if they only stock a brand with runtimes of 1-2 hours (2 hours at low setting), then I guess I'm buying online. :(
