A view not many see. It's at the end of the spit, past the cormorant nesting site (off limits during the nesting season).

How about some ducks? Blessed are the creatures who have no idea what humans are up to.

Another owl, another day. This is far into the Leslie Spit, on an area that is in the process of being built up. This manmade spit has been and is being built up by dropping construction rubble into the water. Because of the trucking, this area is closed to the public until after 4pm on weekdays, open completely during weekends.

Not much more Canadian than this.
Closer to the end! Getting darker, so I am not stopping to set up my tripod. :)
One of the many reasons to hike the Spit: You either feel you are in the middle of nowhere or you have this amazing view of the city skyline. This would be on my hike back out when I'm racing to get back to the car before dark sets in but when I have to stop to take a few sunset photos. I usually end up getting out when it is full dark. I figure what masher hikes in the cold hoping that a lone woman walks by, plus I have my tripod in my hand. :)
