Another 🚨🧵 by Dr. @[email protected] on XTwitter: "Principal component analysis of cytokine signature in COVID-19 and Long COVID 🚨First-of-its-kind clusters explain the LC chaos. #Leonardi_effect [...] study analysed plasma cytokine..." Full 🧵 threadreaderapp.com/thread/20269...
In other words, in some parts of the world Influenza has hit harder this year, but this is not everywhere. There is, of course, nothing else at play as some still try to convince people of = #Leonardi_Effect

One disinformation spreader to another? The 2nd highlights cancer and the role of T and NK cells, which is correct (albeit more complex), AJ makes it about SARS-COV-2 and take ownership of what isn't his. #Leonardi_Effect is not understanding basic science, but pretending.

Involve the large inflammatory reactions.

We now have the #Leonardi_Effect : making nonsense science claims and purposely trying to harm science, people and society with it.

Don't get taken by statistical differences in the pre and post cohorts. These are not the same people, difference are very small and unlikely clinically of interest: they are the result of small changes in very large groups.

Dysregulated IFN-γ, IL-6 and TNF-α after COVID-19 is suggestive of lowered innate immune responses to SARS-CoV-2 and MTB

A paper already abused due to the #Leonardi_Effect (not understanding the data and methods used)

All this seems physiological, the result of an infection. There are no SARS-CoV-2 specific claims, since no infection controls were used. Unformtunately, the "dysfunction" in the title will get the COVID-doomers making unjustified claims = #Leonardi_Effect

Abstract: using tetramers, the authors managed to find the presence of virus-specific T cells, in 40% of LC patients, showing some activation. They looked at TCR sequences. That is it, nothing else, no info on non-LC, etc.

So don´t make things up, that is #Leonardi_Effect

This behaviour, abusing science without knowledge to defend an ideology is also known as the #Leonardi_Effect or #LeonardiEffect. It is spreading medical disinformation, by ideology, ignoring all data and knowledge available, but constantly claiming "I told you so".
