O Pop!_OS 22.04 LTS acabou de atualizar pro kernel 6.12.10. Antes tava no 6.9.3. Continuo usando o Dash to Panel e o ArcMenu, e por enquanto as duas extensões tão funcionando de boa!

Did a major update of my #linux box. Seventy-two updates and several were for the latest #kernellinux. Seven minutes later all of the patches were applied and a quick restart so I can use the new kernel and see if there are any obvious problems (none so far). The work machine sometimes takes over an hour for simple udates and I cannot do any useful work most of the time. I also don't have control over when the updates are applied and they are always during normal work hours which has a negative impact on me supporting our mainframe application.
The laptop is an older (much older) machine and is much more responsive than my more modern work laptop. I have a usable desktop in about 1 minute after power on vs 3-5 minutes for the work laptop. My #linux machine is also using just over 1 gig of memory vs 7+ of the windows machine. I still am advocating about trying out a machine or two at work running #linux so that we are not a windows monoculture.
We would still have to address required security software, VPN and PKI reader software, but everything else is open source. I would not miss having to use Outlook. MS teams did work well on the personal laptop, but I have not tried it recently.
