The bus stop art gallery: there is this guy (who I've never seen) who posts these images of landscapes on the glass backing of the Lady Margaret bus stop here in Kentish Town. They get removed within a couple of days but they do bring a little bit of joy to the neighbourhood

August Bank Holiday Weekend 2025

It is the August Bank Holiday Weekend again!

With summer drawing to a close, it is one of the last chances to enjoy the warm weather over a long weekend.

There will be lots of events over the weekend.

The biggest is the Notting Hill Carnival. With events on Saturday, Sunday and Monday, it is always a mad blend of cultures, people, music and colour.

The Camden Fringe festival is on at various venues – you don’t have to go to Edinburgh!!

It is one of the biggest weekends in the music festival season, with festivals going on across the country. All Points East festival is in Victoria Park. And the Proms are still going at Royal Albert Hall.

The weather is supposed to be good, so why not make the most of Camden’s parks. Regent’s Park, Primrose Hill, Hampstead Heath and Waterlow Park are especially popular. Have a picnic in the park!

All the usual places, such as Camden Market, Covent Garden, and Granary Square & Coal Drops Yard at Kings Cross, will have their usual mix of shops, stalls, performers, and other entertainment.

Of course, don’t forget to enjoy your local markets and high streets.

Enjoy yourself this weekend, and be safe.
