The taskbar gets a visual refresh with improved previews and animations for app icons. A new system tray icon appears for apps using Windows Studio Effects on devices with an NPU, providing quick access to settings and camera usage information. The Simsun-ExtG simplified Chinese font is added, including the Biangbiang noodles character and supporting a wide range of Unicode extensions.
File Explorer receives several updates. The "New Folder" command returns to the left-pane context menu. File Explorer can now restore previously open tabs when "Restore previous folder windows at logon" is enabled. Certain File Explorer settings are automatically turned on when "Automatically save my restartable apps and restart them when I sign back in" is enabled. Several File Explorer bugs are fixed, including repeating searches, incorrect file dates and times, details pane icon issues, and search box focus loss.
HDR display oversaturation in some games using Auto HDR is corrected. USB audio device issues, specifically with DACs using USB 1.0, are addressed. The "Code 10" error for certain external audio management devices is fixed. The Chinese Pinyin IME no longer offers automatic Bing suggestions in search boxes on sites like Baidu; manual suggestions are available via Ctrl+Tab or the chevron button.
USB camera recognition issues after the January update are resolved. The one-minute timeout for phone passkeys is removed. Shutdown times might be faster on some devices with a connected controller. The Windows Security dialog and some Settings options should no longer freeze when signing into certain Wi-Fi networks.
Microsoft has resolved several system issues, including domain join failures, slow Task Manager closing, and watchdog timeout errors upon resuming from sleep. Windows Update installation failures (error 0x800736b3) due to failed feature on demand installations are also fixed, as are memory leaks related to predictive input. The Windows Kernel Vulnerable Driver Blocklist has been updated to further mitigate BYOVD attacks.
