We'll see how it goes, but a Linux install bundle for #Jurism v6.0.30 is now available.

I'll be working on the Firefox plugin next, to round out Linux support.🤞

(The harder task of preparing signed client releases for MacOS and Windows will come after.)

Does anyone know of a guide that would allow me to learn how to update the rules by which #Jurism, a fork of #zotero, formats its references. It doesn't quite get #oscola right for #ECtHR cases.

I have never programmed anything more complex than 'hello world' and a spreadsheet in my life, but I reckon that I could cut my teeth on this bug. It would be good to help a #FOSS project in a small way

@brianb I've been thinking lately that the world needs robust reference management tools a hell of a lot more than it needs these "AI" gadgets.

Suggestions that LLM output be citable on a par with works of intellect just might be the Big Dumb that shocks me out of my doldrums, to put fresh energy into #Jurism maintenance.

@molly0xfff Cool! They're making great strides with Zotero but I'm sure they can use all the help they can get. And as I understand the web page translators are js, maybe there's some reuse possible from the extension.

As you're using Zotero and doing things with law, you might want to have a look at Juris-M, a parallel fork of Zotero with extended capability for legal documents, including proper support for jurisdictions etc. https://juris-m.github.io/ #Jurism

The ageing computers I've used to maintain a project (the #Jurism reference manager) will soon need to be replaced, and I could use advice.

Ideally, I'll want a single machine to run MacOSX, Windows, and Linux, with the Linux install as the daily driver. I don't do anything exceptionally memory intensive, but USB access for all three OSs is critical

I guess a Mac can do this? Any advice on model & setup would be super helpful.

(Cleared! See follow-up below.)

Again spent the better part of the day grinding through citrus harvest, suffering nicks and cuts to snip tiny shiikuwasa off the tree by the bagful, then squeezing and freezing the juice. The icy winds are gusting again as the sun begins to fade, it's time for a nice hot bath and ...

<drumroll/>

... a serious sit-down with #Jurism to start fixing things.

Does anybody know how to get #Jurism to add neutral citations to UK cases as well as the ICLR citation? It can do it suggests the web but it isn't as well documented as #Zotero. If i learn more, I could rectify that

CSL-M citeproc filter for #Pandoc #JurisM

I haven't tried it, but this seems like it will fit the bill— very exciting!

With server migration complete and the desktop client and with plugins for browser and word processor released and confirmed to be stable, the role of these project news blurbs shifts from cataloging Frank's triumphs, musings and frustrations to, well, providing news.

The #Jurism v6.0.22m3 release went up today, and plugin connectors for Firefox and Chrome are available.
