the worst thing about the information ecosystem right now is you tell people "don't use Facebook/X, you're at the mercy of algorithms" but you can't say "read real news outlets instead" because they aren't much better.

you have to **very specifically** get your news from a music magazine, a tech magazine, a teen girl fashion magazine, a website funded by Qatar, a transphobic British publication, random e-mail newsletters, etc. we live in hell.
