El 16 de octubre de 1998, fallece Jon Postel, científico computacional norteamericano, nacido en 1943. Contribuyó enormemente al desarrollo de internet con respecto a estándares, entre ellos el SMTP y el IANA. Sus colegas le llamaban el “Dios del Internet”, por su barba blanca y comportamiento bonachón.

@Perigrin @WuMargaret @perigrin I don’t trust hosting on anything other than the original #IETF RFC 920 top-level domains (arpa, gov, edu, com, mil, org) and net. I’ll grudgingly accept int for NATO, the UN, and other international treaty orgs. Everything else strays from #JonPostel’s light and runs afoul of too many legacy regexps.
