I re-wrote a #Javascript transducer to #Clojure without AI. It took me 10 minutes because there wasn't any complex pattern matching involved. transduce -> transduce, comp -> comp and filter -> filter. Good abstractions save you typing and once you get it they translate easily to other languages.
