In February 2019, when these protests and accompanying #StateViolence had been ongoing for almost a year, an independent fact-finding mission commissioned by the #UN released its report, examining the actions of both #Palestinian protests and the #IsraeliDefenceForce (IDF), based on hundreds of interviews and over 8,000 documents, covering the period from 30th March 2018 to the end of that year (the protests would continue for almost another 11 months).

The report investigated 189 Palestinian deaths and over 9,000 injuries. Of the deaths, 183 were from live ammunition fired by #IDF snipers, 35 were #children (some as young as 11), at least 3 were health workers (with another 40 deliberately wounded), at least 2 were journalists (with another 39 wounded) and at least 3 were people with visible disabilities (including a double amputee). The journalists and medics all wore prominent markings indicating their role.
