United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs #UN #OCHA periodical update on #Gaza:
At least 62,122 Palestinians #killed by now, including¹ at least 18,430 #children (of which 931 younger than 1 year; 356 killed immediately after birth), and 9,735 #women.
More than 1,590 health workers killed².
After a complete halt of entry of all humanitarian supplies into Gaza, Israel has permitted "basic" imports starting May 18th 2025. The amount and the mode of distribution of the permitted imports are still utterly insufficient, with killings reported at militarized aid distribution points.
It is expected that between May and the end of September 2025, the entire population of Gaza will face crisis or worse levels of acute food insecurity (IPC 3 and above), including over a million people (54 per cent) in the emergency phase (IPC Phase 4) and 470,000 people (22 per cent) facing catastrophic levels of acute food insecurity (IPC Phase 5).
1.875 million people in need of emergency shelters.³
About 92% of all #housing units either destroyed (160,000) or damaged (276,000)
Israel has declared 86.3% of Gaza as restricted military areas, or issued "evacuation" (displacement) orders for them.
