Here's a little fly (maybe 𝘏𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘢 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘢) from today's hike on the Wiley Trails. A female, judging by the eyes-- they're well separated, whereas a male's would nearly meet at the top of the head.

The second picture is of the little patch if coltsfoot (𝘛𝘶𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘭𝘢𝘨𝘰 𝘧𝘢𝘳𝘧𝘢𝘳𝘢) she was on-- she's on the upper left flower in the picture, and you can see how tiny she is. She was a good model for my macro lens!

Oh hey! Apparently #InsectThursday is a thing. So here you go. Found this guy relaxing next to the roof rails on the Subie and he hung out long enough for me to grab the camera. I moved him before I drove off.
