@kolev @serge If your only issue is the client not being FOSS, you could use a third-party client, like #InfinityForReddit (https://github.com/Docile-Alligator/Infinity-For-Reddit)

giving #Fedilab a shot, coming from #Tusky
it looks very promising so far but being so used to #InfinityForReddit and subsequently it's lemmy fork Eternity I do miss the swipe to right action for going back from threads etc.

it's nice to be able to swipe from the middle of the screen instead of reaching for the back button (often with a single hand).
I get that I can force these kinds of motions in android globally now; but they feel out of place for me outside of my social media doomscrolling.

@yuliyan I know that #infinityforreddit got an extension because they are working on a subscription model.

They will still have the no nsfw limitations even with subscription

Little update for those of you who care about #Lemmy, my by far favorite client #InfinityForLemmy (a fork of #InfinityForReddit) has been renamed to #Eternity to differentiate better, especially since the developer started to introduce Lemmy specific features (like that instance overview) it's a very good move! I don't know if the placement is perfect because I probably won't have to look at it more than once or twice but it's a very welcome addition and I love the new name!

I'm kinda scared to ask this, but #infinityforreddit is still working just fine on my phone. Is it supposed to be? When are they pulling the plug?
#reddit #redditapi
I am really sad that in a few days #InfinityForReddit and other clients will stop working. I learned a lot of things over there about all kinds of topics in the last years and will miss scrolling through posts. I just cannot ignore the fuckups #Reddit has done in the past few weeks and therefore won't support them by using their official app/website. Time to try out #Lemmy eventhough it only contains a tiny fraction of the content.

This have happened :(

#infinityforreddit

Burning bridges.

I'd be lying if I said I won't miss it. And I may still occasionally visit r/flying from the desktop website, as that hasn't yet reached (and never may) viable size on #lemmy to be a useful source of expertise.

For many other uses, lemmy is fine, and will grow.

I had hoped #infinityforreddit would start supporting lemmy, instead they will be offering a subscription model for #reddit. #fediverse

I will probably subscribe. For no other reason than to support #Infinity devs. I will not be logging in to #Reddit after the 1st. I will delete all of my content. U/Spez has #dugg too deep of a hole with his mouth.πŸ‘Ž

Thank you to the #InfinityForReddit
Team. You made Reddit what reddit should have made reddit
