Mystavaria MUD@nil This definitely isn't right - there's plenty of people still developing #MUDs (us included!) and plenty that have come into existence since 2002! We want to be found, it's just a hard genre with a small niche to market toward when most people prefer to have visuals in the games they play.
Some of the popular ones still around these days are the games run by Iron Realms Entertainment (IRE) - #Achaea, #Aetolia, #Lusternia, #Imperian, and #Starmourn.
#Discworld is also popular, and a newer one called Procedural Realms has gotten a lot of positive feedback, too.
