Wishing I chose a closer seat. Not used to theaters where you have to pick a seat before you actually see the inside of the theater. I like the screen pretty much in my face but not so close that I have to move my head to see it. #IMAX

Looks like I’ll spend the morning working on my Day 2 #video (today is Day 4) and trying to record the narration for Day 3, which will be pretty short since I didn’t do much of anything productive yesterday. I’ve also got a request for a video about chartering my boat, so I need to outline that.

Today also seems like the perfect day to go see #ProjectHailMary in #IMAX at a mid-day matinee. I just need to make sure the boatyard people won’t need me for 3 hours. (They shouldn’t.)

Tonight the kids and I watched Sinners (2025) as our March 2025 Family Movie Night film.

Sinners is one of those special movies that elicits conversation after the credits roll. As the movie opens, the story slowly burns giving the characters time to breathe and let the audience bond. When the movie gets going, it gets going.

Ryan Coogler is such a talented director and I look forward to seeing more films from him in the future.

Michael B. Jordan is fantastic as the twins Smoke Stacks -- giving us two distinct performances. The way that the filmmakers managed to shoot both characters on screen at the same time is mind boggling good.

The movie looks so good with its mixed aspect ratio on 4K UHD Blu-ray. The use of Ultra Panavision 70mm and IMAX swallows our vision and is so immersive. Autumn Durald Arkapaw's cinematography is sumptuous.

I highly recommend Sinners.

The kids both rated the movie 7.5 out of 10. I rate it 9 out of 10.

Watched on 4K UHD Blu-ray.

Watched #ProjectHailMary on the biggest #IMAX in #HongKong today (I liked the #book by #AndyWeir so I wanted/needed to see the #film adaption). 🚀🪨 And my ticket came with a gift in the form of a poster! Opening day at Emperor Cinemas in iSquare, Tsim Sha Tsui.

Made a rare trip to an actual movie theater tonight to see #Tommy in #IMAX. Can't believe it's been 50 years since it came out. I watched it about ten years after the original release, but had forgotten much of it.

Tina Turner got applause from our #SanFrancisco audience after her "Acid Queen" scene 🙂
