Water in all its forms 🌧️ 🌨️ - just like your studies! Whether as raindrops finding their path, snow transforming the campus, or a misty morning lake - water is diverse and fascinating.
This same diversity awaits you in the new semester! The Department of Hydrology and River Basin Management wishes everyone a successful start to the winter semester 2025/26!

We welcome Jana Brettin to our HydRiv-team! With a Master in Geoecology from the @unipotsdam and experience from @unihannover, she'll be supporting the KliBiw project, funded by the Lower Saxony Ministry of Environment, Energy, Building, and Climate Protection. 🌍💧 KLIBIW 8 will investigate the impacts of #climatechange and how groundwater levels affect low water conditions in Lower Saxony. #HydRiv #ClimateResearch #hydrology

Hydrology and River Basin Management

The Kettentiden-Eider project investigates the link between North Sea water levels and inland #flooding in the Eider-Treene catchment. As part of #ZukunftEider, we're using statistical and hydraulic methods to identify critical discharge conditions and develop adaptation strategies. Our mission: enhance flood management and prepare for #climate impacts #compoundfloods #extremeweather #ClimateAdaptation #hydriv #SchleswigHolstein
The end of the summer term is here! We wish all our students the best of luck with their studies and exams. By the way, have you ever wondered what the company name "Billabong" has to do with hydrology? Hint: Think meanders! #hydriv #GoodLuck #HydrologyTrivia
Proud to be part of SUMMERVIBES X CAMPUSNord festival by asta_tubs @tubraunschweig with our augmented reality sandbox. #goodvibes #hydriv #hydrology
In our #hydrometry course, #environmental #science students spent the day in the sun and got their feet wet learning about flow measurement with different #hydrometric instruments and using GPS in the Schunter River. #HydRiv #fieldday @tubraunschweig
Excited to announce this year's #HydRiv excursion from 21 to 24 May. We will explore the current and future challenges of #water and #flood management in the German and Dutch coastal regions.
