Today, a rare movie night as evening entertainment.
Also counts as preparation for my #ttrpg #Halloween session with #dread next week: #EventHorizon (1997) - yet another #scifi #horrror classic I haven't seen.

Fun Michael Fassbender performances and great action scenes are undermined by dire CGI a compromised vision and how little Ridley Scott cares about beyond the androids. My ★★½ review of Alien: Covenant (2017) on Letterboxd: https://boxd.it/7afFFZ #Alien #Horrror #Letterboxd
A ★★½ review of Alien: Covenant (2017)

Yeah, Alien Covenant is about as uneven as I remember. The Prometheus sequel has a lot of things that it’s trying to do; it ostensibly wants to follow up on the themes explored in the 2012 film while also serving as a proper Alien prequel film. Simon Pegg, Ed Frost, and Kate Ashfield are all pitch perfect as the stunted hero, the loser best friend and the estranged girlfriend trying to survive a zombie uprising with their friends and loved ones. Pegg and Frost’s chemistry as a duo sells the comedy parts beautifully, while Ashfield comes in to help combines the
