For reasons I cannot explain, I watched HOODWINKED (2005) and HOODWINKED TOO (2011). I suppose I should appreciate what an independent production managed to pull off with the first movie, but I didn't like it much. The sequel was worse. I liked Patrick Warburton's Wolf W. Wolf character, but I'm a furry so of course I did.
Then today I happened to catch some clips of the OG Tom & Jerry cartoon and I realized I probably would have liked both HOODWINKED movies if I was a child. I've been spoiled by animated films that also cater to adult sensibilities, like how physics works. My standards are unreasonable, yes, but HOODWINKED physics was bad even by '00s animation standards. The animation quality improved in some ways in the sequel, but it was a worse movie otherwise.
