Bought a new router (GLi Net Flint 2) which broke my headless Pi SSH connection. Took me a while to realise the Pi doesn't support WPA3. Still working on it... Last night I had to work on the TV as the new router also broke the wifi remote control (IR receiver is broken) connection... Found out that using a keyboard with an Android TV is very unintuitive (it's a Sony Bravia).

Ah... networking. Every time I learn a little bit more!

Well what do you know – The Electronics Flea Market (EFM) has moved back to Saturday mornings and if you park in lot 2 it is free. Looks as we get to share the campus with the farmer’s market, so I get to peruse fruit & veg for the week and get my nerd on. Hopefully I will find another security appliance from a vendor I do not have yet for my test rack in the garage.

Trying to decide whether to get a #RaspberryPi or a budget mini pc as a home backup server, AdGuard DNS and home network firewall.

Some Pi setups are as expensive as budget mini PCs and all I'd have to do would be replace Windows with Linux on those.

I've run out of broken and old computers at home for this purpose as my last old laptop's screen broke and now has hard drive failure😁.

Ideas/Input?

My flurry of network rework this week has wrapped up pretty well. 😃

It was all in aid of moving a WiFi access point to the other side of a concrete(garage) wall to improve the reception on that side of the house. That move meant orphaning several Ethernet cables that used its hardware ports tho'.

A bit of juggling and it's working nicely - and without buying another switch.

A network is never really finished, but hopefully it's stable for a few months or so.
