𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗧𝗼𝗶𝗹𝗲𝘁 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰: "𝗧𝗼𝗶𝗹𝗲𝘁𝘀 𝗔𝗿𝗲 𝗮 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗣𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗲"
Today, on November 19, we observe World Toilet Day, an important occasion dedicated to raising awareness about the critical need for access to clean and safe sanitation for everyone. 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿'𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺𝗲, "𝗧𝗼𝗶𝗹𝗲𝘁𝘀 𝗔𝗿𝗲 𝗮 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗣𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗲," emphasizes how essential sanitation is for promoting health, dignity, and security in communities around the world.
𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗙𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘀:
- 1000 children die daily from diarrheal diseases linked to poor sanitation.
- Clean and safe toilets keep more girls in school, significantly improving attendance rates and educational outcomes.
- For every $1 invested in water and sanitation, there is a $4.3 return in reduced healthcare costs.
- The goal to halve the number of people without sanitation is currently 150 years behind schedule.
Despite progress, 2.4 billion people still lack improved sanitation, and nearly 1 billion are forced to practice open defecation, which severely impacts health and dignity.
United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres has called for renewed efforts to address the global sanitation crisis and break the cycle of poor sanitation and malnutrition.
Join us in promoting sustainable sanitation practices that ensure everyone has access to clean toilets. Together, we can foster healthier and more equitable communities.
