Multiple U.S. Presidents have tried to change the IRS to allow for free online filing for everyone, but failed. American politicians are owned by #Intuit #TurboTax and #HandRBlock. Both companies produce software that walks consumers through paying their #taxes and filling out the forms.

Both companies have lobbied for decades to fend off govt changes which would have allowed for FREE online filing, directly through the #IRS.
